Right place right time! Petco & Merlin

I have a Male Boxer named Merlin he is 7.
He needed dog food before we leave town for a week. I put his lease on him and we both went together to the local PetCo. While buying dog food there I struck up a conversation with an employee there, and she told me I should stay for their dog contest. I hadn't heard about it, and figured since I had nothing to do I'd stay.
There were only 2 other dogs there and they won smallest dog, and biggest dog, (which merlin was supposed to win, but the guy brought the dog in last minute) look alike and best dressed. We won the look alike. haha. whatever, I don't care we had fun, met new people and got a free $10 gift card out of the deal.
Also before leaving another guy with is dog came in and he won best dresses, by default, lol. The employee gave us some free Purina items, along with another brand of dog food samples FREE
SO cool. I had contemplated not even bringing Merlin with me, glad I did though!!!
$10 petco gift card
1 frisbee
1 T-shirt
1 dog bowl
2 magnets (1 clip kind and other 1 frame)
1 fire rescue pet sticker
1 keychain clip
3 plastic cups
1 tennis ball
1 cat tail toy
9 sm sample size dog food
and here is Merlin!!!

The holiday season is CRAZY and with travel coming soon, I am finding it almost impossible to do any coupon shopping. but my stash has a great deal of stuff in it so I am not too too worried at the moment! It has been a nice break so far, and I have not completely stopped couponing just slowed down a WHOLE bunch right now!! :)

Steamers at Wal-Mart

Our local Wal-Mart has the reg size, plain Green Giant Steamer vegetable bags for $1.22.
There are 2 coupons from 2 different inserts which have $1.00 off any GG steamers bags. so you get the bags for $0.22 each! now I checked the prices at another Wal-Mart not as close to us, and they were marked $1.86 there, not as good of a deal, so check the prices where you shop for this great deal.
Also Ronzoni has another $1.00 coupon, and these prices vary from store to store. the best price and most consistent store to carry these is Wal-Mart. $1.50 each, so $0.50 a box. I have seen them on sale elsewhere cheaper, BUT they were sold out, and the price wasnt that much better anyway.
I was browsing the costume section. they had nothing that interested us that was below $27.99.
so we mosied on over to the toy section where they had other dress up dresses. I saw a couple of cheer outfits which were cute. I grabbed the "off brand" outfit, and the Barbie brand to compare.
Low and behold the off brand was $9.88 and the Barbie one was $7.00, which was originally $14.88!! I only found 1 though, bummer. I was thinking holding on to it for Christmas, since I could only find one and I wanted the girls to match.
I think I am going to add it into my savings and my OOP.

I had earlier than normal trips today. mainly because the items I wanted and deals were so "hot".
I went to Walgreens with 3 $4.50RR and 2 $4.00RR, so $21.50 worth of RR. Walked out after my wags trips w/ 6 $3 RR and $5 worth of rebated, plus the goody bags and stuff, etc. so I have $23 worth to spend now. (except the rebates I have to wait to spend and the RR are only good for 2 weeks) but how AWESOME!
and CVS has breeze 2 monitors on sale for 14.99 plus you get $10 ECB back. well there are Qs out there to get up to $30 off the monitors, so the cashier puts it through as 14.99 and you get the monitor for free, and you get $10 free ECB!!
The only problem I ran into is that the monitors were pretty much sold out everywhere. I went to 3 stores so far and have only found 1... but I am such a "smart" person (some would call me a schemer) I borrowed 2 that a friend had bought, and repurchased them 3 times so far, for the ECBs. and I found 1 myself, so I get to post that one as savings, and into my totals.
all in all it has been a good day so far. I plan to repurchase these meters if I need to to use up the rest of my Breeze2 Qs. Hopefully I will find more monitors at other stores as we are planning a trip into Houston later.
